How well do we understand His love and grace?

How well do I understand God’s unconditional love? Here is a test. When I sin do I feel less loved by Him? Do I feel that He is dissatisfied with me? Do I feel that I have to try harder to meet His expectations?
God’s unconditional love does not vary, it is perfect. “What does vary is (our) awareness of (His) loving presence.”(Sarah Young, 40 Days with Jesus, Day 31). Sin brings shame just as it did to the first couple in the garden. But it did not stop God from still wanting to fellowship with them. To deal with shame and “feel” more loved by God we often will try to perform our way back into His presence. That demonstrates that we still do not grasp or understand His love and grace. God has removed shame through the cross. Shame no longer has the power to hold us from God (Rom. 8:1, 1 John 4:18). His love has defeated and continues to overcome shame. Therefore, when we sin we simply remove the resulting shame through confession which is for our sakes not God’s. Once shame is removed, we can again enjoy His constant, unconditional and never changing love.

Check out this website I found at myemail.constantcontact.com

He should be our entire focus! There is enough about Him to consume a life time of study and conversation. Lets get the focus back onto Jesus!

What is God doing?

Mk.15:32 Where was God or what was He doing when Jesus hung on the cross? The crowds jeer Him and mock His identity. It looked like the bitter end of a man's life who had great intentions. It appeared to not make sense. But what was really going on? What was hidden from most of those watching this tragic scene unfold? There was another plot, another reality taking place. The King on the cross was in fact actually accomplishing something through another reality. It was the reality of the Kingdom of God. Most of the time we don't see this Kingdom reality with our natural eye. It is a mystery and can only be seen through a different set of eyes. Like 3D glasses we need to have eyes of revelation to see and know what is actually taking place in life's circumstances. Our challenge is to not judge by what we see in the flesh but to ask the Spirit to allow us to see the reality of what the Father is really doing.

The Battle FOR God's Will.

Mark 14:36. Jesus knows the will of the Father so His prayer is that He be able to obey it. How often this is the case with us. In our spirits we know what the Father has asked us to do but we battle with the flesh in agreeing with the Father. Jesus is fighting and winning this battle just as He taught in His model prayer...”Your will be done”! But, what if we don’t know the will of the Father, say for some life direction? Then, the battle is to press the flesh into submission to hear or see what the Father’s will may be. (Mt. 6:33)
