Recently one of our men’s groups under the leadership of Kevin Janisse, celebrated the baptism of a new brother that has accepted the call to follow Jesus. It was a thrill to witness Kevin and another brother from the group baptize him in a recent Sunday AM church. What a testimony to how Jesus commanded us to be “fishers” and disciplers of men.
Steve Williams almost immediately joined Kevin’s men's group shortly after starting to attend New Hope. He claims that the group right away offered him powerful encouragement and strengthening as a man. He also gave witness to how he is learning to submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and responding to God's call.
Steve wanted to get baptized because he desires everyone to know his decision to follow Christ and turn away from his old life. We rejoice in his public declaration and pray for him as he continues to grow as a son of God. We also rejoice in seeing true “fishing” and discipling taking place. Who is next??
