Fearing God did gain acceptance with Him in the old covenant but Jesus has provided a better way. Through Jesus we have peace with God so we no longer have to be afraid of not being accepted but can live in a peaceful relationship with Him. The former is a life of duty and religion, the latter is a life being loved as a precious son or daughter. Acts 10:35,36
